Little Lady Lynzy

She was so small she fit in the palm of my hand. That was the first time I saw her. She was a cute wrinkled poodle puppy of apricot color. Even now at four years old she only weighs about five pounds. When she walks she prances on her long legs like a little lady.

Lynzy comes from my wife’s middle name, Lynn. My wife loves her. She thinks she is the sweetest thing in the world. I am dead if I ever let anything happen to her Little Lady Lynzy.

When she was just a puppy she was playing with me on the bed. She jumped back and fell off the bed backwards breaking her leg. It was awful. We rushed her to the animal hospital and they did surgery. I saw the x-rays. Her leg bone wasn’t any bigger than a toothpick but she healed and is as good as ever.

A native Indian stayed with us for about a week and taught Lynzy her only trick. She plays fetch and is really quick. She will often catch her toy before it hits the ground and bring it right back to you. She will fight you for it for a while and then let you throw it again.

Lynzy likes to sleep. She sleeps with my wife and me and doesn’t move even when we get up in the morning. She waits for me to give her a rub a dub and get her out of bed. Then she stretches and goes to her pillow in the living room. Every day when I come home she is waiting on top of the couch for me to rub her. When I am working in my office she sleeps on the chair. In the evening she curls up beside who ever is on the couch.

She has a lot of other interesting ways. She doesn’t eat at her bowl but brings her food into the living room and eats it. When she wants to be let out she comes up to my face and claws very gently. We don’t feed her food off the table but when we eat popcorn she stands very close waiting for us to drop some. I will let her lick the last bite of ice cream bar off the stick.

Little Lady Lynzy epitomizes a dog’s life. That’s better living.
